• What should I expect as a new patient to Physio Freedom?

If you’d like to be assessed and treated at Physio Freedom, you need to schedule an appointment with one of our experienced physiotherapists. Appointments can be made in person or by phoning (03) 5500 5271.

We ask that you arrive at our treatment clinic 10 minutes prior to your first appointment to fill out some paperwork.

You will be assessed and appropriately treated by a friendly and experienced physiotherapist who will explain your problem in plain language and let you know about your specific condition.

Please wear practical clothing, i.e., shorts for a hip or knee problem or a singlet top for a shoulder problem.

  • Do I need to pay for my treatment on the day of the appointment?

We ask that all patients pay on the day of treatment. This also includes TAC, WorkSafe, DVA and Medicare EPC patients. Third party insurance patients are required to pay a small gap fee, while the insurance companies will be billed directly for the balance. Payment can be made by cash or credit card/eftpos.

  • Am I covered by Private Health Insurance?

If you have private health insurance with ancillary coverage, including physiotherapy, you will be able to use our HICAPS terminal to claim your rebate. This means you only have to “pay the gap” on the day of your consultation, saving the need to post off receipts for reimbursement. The gap is usually one third of the treatment cost, depending on your insurance policy.

Physio Freedom is a preferred provider for Medibank Private and BUPA clients.

  • What’s your Cancellation Policy?

Because we often have a waiting list, we ask for a minimum of 24 hours’ notice if you are unable to attend an appointment. This allows for another needy person to receive treatment. If you fail to attend an appointment without letting us know, you will incur a $35 charge. This includes compensable clients (TAC and WorkSafe) who will have to pay this fee out of their own pocket.

  • Do you accept TAC, WorkSafe, DVA or Medicare EPC patients?

All physiotherapists at Physio Freedom are registered to treat these patients. Please ensure you have a current and appropriate referral and bring any other information with you that may be relevant e.g. letter from your doctor or specialist, x-rays, scans or operation reports.

  • Do I need a doctor’s referral to attend Physio Freedom?

Private fee-paying patients are welcome with no formal referral. You only need a doctor’s referral if you are attending under TAC, WorkSafe. DVA or the Medicare Enhanced Primary Care Program.
